One of my good friends in fifth grade passed away due to cancer. Now I want to find out what type of cancer it was, and in honor of her, do my reasearch project on that type of cancer. If it helps, she was diagnosed with it at a very young age (possibly from birth) and she lost her hair due to chemotherapy. The doctors weren’t able to find a cure. The only reason I’m not asking her family is because I really don’t want to bring up more pain for them than they have already felt. A list of possible types it could be would be greatly appreciated. Please guys, this is really important to me. Thanks for the multitude of the kind and informative responses. I appreaciate it greatly! Waytootiny- thank you for the list and the good advice. As the first response, thank you for getting back quickly. I sympathize with your cancer, and am glad you came through it. Best of luck in the future. Tiago- Thank you, I did end up using ALL, though I’m pretty sure it couldn’t have been anything else that you gave because those wern’t childhood cancers. H- thank you! I’m sorry for their loss. I did try looking up childhood cancers, but it didn’t help narrow it down, so that’s why I came here. Denise- Good adivce, I realize now how many different types of cancers there are and appreciate the answer. Your answer was more bold and blunt than the other answers and it seems that many people agree with you. Hence the (3+). amphitryon- thank you for the link. I did chck there and it did provide some useful info. later when doing the project. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to contact the family. She has a twin sister, but I haven’t seen her since. I couldn’t find a way to contact them, but some friends knew and I remembered a ribbon project in 5th grade. Also, it most likely fit my description. The reason I didn’t ask them directly at first was due to the fact that the memories were still fresh and I knew it cut deeply into them. Appreciate the help, all the answers, one way or another influenced me. So thank you! (yes I do normally leave a really long response after recieving great answers) It will be hard to pick a “best”, but I believe it is more in the value of these answers that yo have given me. Thank you!
