She is having a stent fitted tomorrow to stop her bowel closing. I also heard the word metastatic used. Can anyone give me any information or links for this type of cancer?

My Uncle was diagnosed about a month ago and it seems that every day since then he’s progressively been getting worse. The docs initially gave him 20 months but we wonder how much time he really has left. His face is quite gaunt, he’s jaundiced, has acities in his belly, swollen ankles, his breathing is becoming labored, he’s weak. All he wants to do all day long is sleep. Tonight my Aunt took him to the hospital as he has a high fever. It just seems like all of the symptoms are coming on so fast. His birthday is in mid November…is there any hope that he may still be here to celebrate it? He’s also on capectabine to help slow tumor growth.

He has multiple lesions on his liver. The doctors have been unable to determine the primary site of the cancer. They “think” it may be the pancreas and have advised that it is sometimes difficult to diagnose cancer in the pancreas. He is bleeding internally and has needed several blood transfusions over the last 6 months. He has lost 35-40 pounds. His ankles are very painful and all the doctors can say is that it is an infection, which they are treating with aggressive intravenous antibiotics. Due to his age and other heath concerns (prior heart attacks), the doctors do not think chemo is possible. He has not been given a prognosis; (no one has asked). Can anyone give me a prognosis of how long he might have?
