What is the survival rate if I deny Chemo Therapy?

I was diagnosed with cancer when I was ten. I was supposed to pay attention to lumps and crap in my Lymph Nodes. I just found a lump under the Lymph Node on the left side of my neck. I had the one on my right side removed years ago because of leukemia. Is anyone else living with this disease? I am trying to ignore it but everything seems to be happening so quickly. My knees are going out and my spine is probably effected too. I know it is too late to have it removed, but I don’t want to live with treatment because it seems as if it’ll take too much energy and time for something that is not curable. I want to live, and not be forced to live. I just simply want to know what amount of time I may have if I go untreated…

Did anyone else ever get yellow nails while undergoing chemo and radiotherapy?

I’ve noticed that my nails have been a yellowy hue for the past few weeks, but dismissed it because I thought it was from the funky nail polish remover and different brand of polish that I was using. I love painting, and usually have to redo my nails every day or so because of the splatters I get from my art. I normally use OPI or MAC, but have the last few bottles have been Millani nail lacquer, which has a different sheen and consistency, so maybe that’s the real cause. Last week I only used OPI and I used a different brand of nail polish remover four days ago and didn’t paint my nails. They are still yellowy. Not like mildly yellow, but grotesque and noticeable. I’ve seen elderly people with nails that look like this, but nobody my age (17). Two people asked me about them today. I haven’t repainted because I wanted to see if they’d go back to normal. I see my onco on Friday and am going to mention it to her then, even though I feel a bit silly and like a hypochondriac because my nails are probably just damaged from having painted them so often. I’m just curious to know now if anybody else ever experienced this or any other discoloration of their nails. My toe nails are also discolored, but I use the same polish and remover on them. Do you think the nail lacquer damaged them and I just need to wait it out, or is this some funky side effect? I’ve been undergoing treatment since Sept. 09 and the nail issue only started recently. Nobody ever said I couldn’t paint them….. Does a fungus just make them yellow or would you see something funky under the nail? Nothing is under the nails as far as I can see.

Food cancer patients can eat while on chemo?

I need a better idea when it comes to making breakfast for my father. About 2 months ago he was diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma and at the moment is undergoing radiation. He was prescribed nexavar as chemotherapy, and only has one side effect – diahrea. He can’t have dairy or anything too greasy. But, the doctor wants him to gain weight. Has anyone been through the same situation? Or similar, I just need a basic idea of what to cook for him or buy for him in that manner. PLEASE HELP??!?! Dave- When I first found out my dad had cancer, I left the hospital and went to my friends law firm. Borrowed a ton of books on every sort of cancer provided by the american cancer society, but unfortunately found little information. I really want feedback on people that have dealt with this pill, I read it was recently prescribed for liver cancer and really was for kidney cancer.. Thank you thou, I should really try the bookstores soon. Thanks to whomever responds
