Mother’s family with high records of cancer. Myself has small cell lung carsinoma. How risky for my both sons

My children is now age 13 and 10. How should I monitor their health progress.

My cousin has stage 4 Lung Cancer(non small cell) and the doctors seem like they are taking their sweet time!?

It’s been over 2 months since she’s been diagnosed and has had to wait a week to two weeks for each test. It just seems like they aren’t in any hurry to get her treatment started. Is this normal??

Squamous Cell Carcinoma in the genital region? Chances of survival?

My grand-mother was just diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma in the genital region (vaginal) and they are putting her through chemotherapy and radiation. It’s not on her cervix.. just her lower parts. If it is well contained to this area (Which the doctor says it looks to be) How likely is her chance of recovery? I am not unrealistic and know she is an older woman, but she is so healthy other wise that I am curious to hear from other survivors or people who know about this type of cancer. Thank you so much.
They are waiting till the 15th to scan her to see if it has spread but the doctor is positive. It’s making me sad and angry they are taking so long. If she was a child or a younger person they would have immediately had her in but because she’s an older woman they probably assume she’ll die anyway. I care about her a lot and it’s so upsetting.
Please stop spamming my heartfelt question with your money making schemes. Go to hell, evil people.

would like any info avail re alternative treatments for small cell (oats) lung cancer–chemo really tough?

My mother was recently diagnosed with Small Cell (lim.) lung cancer and emphysema.?

Because of the 7CM mass on her lung (cutting off right lung) she is also going through superior vena cava obstruction. My question is just how swollen should her face/neck get before I force her to ER? She was just there Sunday night, her face is rather large compared to how she normally looks. The Dr’s keep telling her to put Ice on her face/neck and told her to take benadryl which is not helping. She had an allergic reaction to something with her Chemo and did not get to start her first run but has had one radiation treatment. She is VERY stubborn and making me VERY worried. I do not think she is disclosing all of her symptoms (i.e. trouble swallowing/breathing) because she KNOWS per DR’s orders she will have to be hospitalized.

What is the survival rate for small cell bladder cancer in men?

Because small cell bladder cancer is not as common as other types, I can find very little about it online. My 74 year old husband was just diagnosed with Stage IV bladder cancer extending into the lymph nodes and spots on his ribs. Radical chemo started today. The doc refused to give me a time frame – just told me we needed to start chemo immediately, that the time window was very small, and that we would only get one chance with chemo. My brother died 7 years ago from small cell lung cancer…it went very fast – 7 months. Can someone give me some honest answers what kind of time and what to expect in relation to bladder cancer? He has also had prostate cancer 14 years ago but they say this is not connected. I am 54 years old and can care for him although I work full-time. Please, no religious answers – He and I both know there are no miracles.

For stage II Lung cancer (Non small cell), is it normal not to do chemotherapy?

My cousin just had surgery to remove a tumor on his lung. They are only giving him drugs and radiation. Should they give him chemo too?

Systemic Treatment of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

Product DescriptionLung cancer is the leading cause of cancer mortality worldwide, and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounts for about 85% of all cases of lung cancer. Most patients present with advanced disease and five-year survival is low at about 15%. Surgery is the main treatment for early stage disease. If patients are deemed inoperable, systemic chemotherapy is considered. For patients with locally advanced disease, multimodality therapy is administered where chemotherapy… More >>
Systemic Treatment of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

What is small cell carcinoma, and why is edema in the upper body a serious complication.?

A family member has small cell carcinoma being treated with chemotherapy in the lung/thoracic area, and recently has developed edema in the arms and chest (not sure specifics of where in the chest the edema is). What is this type of cancer and what is the concern with the edema when it develops secondary to the cancer? Thank You.

Anyone had any experience with High Grade Small Cell Neuroendocrine Carcinoma?

Diagnosis is High Grade Small Cell Neuroendocrine Carcinoma presenting between colon and pelvis (also in lymphnodes in same area). Doctor’s are not sure but believe it originated from cervix or uterus. It is being treated as if it were Small Cell Lung Cancer eventhough it is NOT in the lungs.
Having a hard time finding anything online because it is apparently pretty darn rare. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

small cell ovarian cancer?

My 19 year-old neice has been diagnosed with this very rare form of cancer. I have been online for days trying to find any info I can about this. I have found “small cell lung cancer” and of course “ovarian cancer” but cannot find “small cell ovarian cancer.” She has been through one major surgery already and they are starting chemo this week, and do not have a positive prognosis. Has anyone out there known anyone who suffers/suffered from this form of cancer? If so can you offer any information on it?? Please help…

My xbf claims to have small cell squamous lung cancer, not the skin cancer kind, HELP???

But he’s also a pathological liar and he was going to jail for domestic violence against me and my girls and he had a piece of paper written on a prescription pad, saying what cancer he had., with a doctors[oncologist] He was happy telling me he had ‘about’ 5 yrs to live unless the cancer had spread, as he said most of these cancers do. I don’t know if he faked this to get out of going to jail or not. I called the place where he got radiation and he did have an appointment there, also did have appt. for chemo. When I would hug him, he’d say’Not too hard, it hurts’ Huh? Is that normal for lung cancer?I just wonder if I’m getting played here. How could his lawyer bring a false paper into court? At first I thought skin cancer but I saw his chest and not a mark on him, just little pen marks where he said the docs marked where they would radiate him. Also he would walk to his appts refusing any help. Not even out of breath. Yet would sit by me in church and be out of breath. AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH

cancer question squamous cell right lung stage 111A?

I have been diagnosed with squamous cell stage !!!A lung cancer I have two small cells of cancer in my right lung and one lymph node.
Treatments are surgery, radiation, chemo for most people. I am considered a non surgery candidate.
Therefore radiation and chemo would be my only chance. My questions are to compare length of life, quality , prognosis, with treatment and without any treatment?
I have asked my Doctor, but there is an English barrier, He’s from India Plyus Doctors don’t know how long it takes to die without treatment, because patients against treatment don’t usually go back.

Would Chemo or radation benefit my mom to live longer with small cell cancer and for how long?

My mom was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer on mon may 19 and she has bipolar disorder,a heart stint, she is weak and fragile, she is 56 years old, short of breath.she is swelling badly in ankles and feet, and turning yellow already from head to neck.I am concerned she wont beable to tolerate chemo nor radation therapy to prolong her life.I need to know if chemo would be a good option for her or she should just live out what life she has left with the cancer.I want her quality of life to be what it is now and not lesser. She cant tolerate pain well and she has a negative attitude.
