Why is always particulary breast cancer that people raise money for? I mean Tom Green lost his left testical due to cancer, but nobody raises money for testical cancer, or what about lung cancer, stomach cancer, skin cancer, bone cancer, etc etc, but most people only raise money for breats cancer specifically. Makes one wonder, is it all being done out of favortism??? What I mean is, if a women loses her breats thats more important then a man loses his lungs????

My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in late 1999,had her lymphnodes removed and was eventaualy in remission.Just after 5 years later,we found it metasticized to her lungs in early 2005.She had been on chemo and Herceptin for 2 years when we found it metasticized to her bones (primarily right hip) just in February.She had intense radiation and is being treated with stonger chemo,but have had problems with it lowering her white blood count.Two of the past 4 weeks of her new chemo they had to cancel it so they could give her a shot 3 days in a row to try to boost it back up.Just very recently,she’s been having headaches,diarrhea,and very pale complexion.Though it could possbily be the side effects of the stronger chemo, she had an MRI done yesterday morning but won’t find out the results until next week.My sister and I are afraid the cancer has spread to her brain,but she acts like nothing is wrong like she did just a few months ago when she knew the cancer had spread to her hip….
They could not remove the legions on her hip since the cancer was metastatic, only chemo and radiation. IF it has spread to her brain, what are the chances treatment would work? I’ve heard once cancer metasticizes to the brain it’s very hard to control. Anyone with experience/advice? My sister and I are both grown and know when our mom is lying about her being “fine”, not knowing is driving us crazy. Since breast cancer primarily spreads to the lungs, bones and brain, there is a good chance it has spread to her brain. What are her chances of beating it for the 4th time?
Is it possible to have a tumor in your breast without it being breast cancer?

My mother recently found a small tumor-like growth under the skin towards the center of her chest on her breast. I’m really worried that its cancer but she won’t go to the doctor! Is it possible for it to just being a “harmless tumor” like she says it is? Please help, I’ve never had to deal with anything that has to do with cancer and I’m really worried!

I would like to start a fundraiser for breast cancer using cookie dough or breast cancer shirts or anything really wanted to do it this summer with my nieces thought it would be fun and good for them. But I have know idea how to get it started any ideas or info would be awesome.

My aunt was just diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. I’d like to make a CD of inspirational and upbeat songs to give her hope and motivation as she goes thru chemo, surgery and radiation over the course of the next few months. Any great suggestions would be appreciated.

Okay today my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer unfortunately. The cancer is in the right side of her right breast. She has a lump on her breast, i think that’s the tumor, anyways it’s approximately 1.8 cm. In january she had her annual mammogram check up and that was negative and fine. In june she noticed the lump and a biopsy revealed it was cancer.

A co-worker of mine was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year. She is in her early thirties, married with two young daughters. She had a bilateral mastectomy followed by chemotherapy and will be starting radiation therapy this week.
Her family is now facing serious financial difficulties. She is presently collecting disability insurance, which only pays a fraction of what she earns. The company that her husband works for is not doing well due to the recession and he has taken a cut in pay. They do not think the business will continue past the end of this year. They are two months behind on their mortgage payments.
There are plenty of groups that provide mammograms and medical assistance but she can’t find any programs or charities that can offer assistance or a loan that would tide her family over until she returns to work. She has contacted the Sussex County (New Jersey) department of Health and Human Services but was told that they make too much money for any assistance. I contacted 211 and they said the same.
This is a perfect example of the type of family that falls thru the cracks in the system. They are / were able, with two salaries, to provide for their family with little left over after the monthly bills to put into savings or emergency fund. They do not live lavishly. The stress of possible home foreclosure cannot be helpful with her recovery.
Please let me know if there are any resources for women in her position. I will then forward that information to her.

My mother has been recently diagnosed with breast cancer. It is not hereditary & she is healthy. She has in her DNA some predisposition to getting it based on certain environmental factors. I am assuming this is related to hormone replacement therapy drugs she took when she was going through menopause.
Understandably so, there is a risk factor associated with breast cancer and these drugs that were studied and this conclusions still remains to be proven.
My question is my choice to get on birth control, as it is one form of hormone replacement. Will this heighten my own risk to get breast cancer down the line? I am early 30s and healthy.
Are there any survivors of Inflammatory Breast Cancer?

My mother got diagnosed last year in november with (IBC)! She has gone through so many rounds of chemotherapy and radiation but it seems like it keeps growing. She has a doctor from M.D. Anderson and they have a research study. She is starting a new experimental chemo for just IBC. But i was wondering if anyone survived this type of breast cancer?

About 3 weeks ago a large red spot showed up on my left breast. It went away but there is now a small piece of hard skin in that area. It doesn’t hurt, but I don’t know what it is. I know i’m only 16 so i shouldn’t be worried but breast cancer runs in my family.
